DALLAS—(Oct. 28, 2014)—Entrust, now part of Datacard Group, today announced that senior product manager, Chris Taylor, will be presenting at the 13th annual Smart Card Alliance Government Conference in Washington, D.C. on Thurs. Oct. 30th, 2014 at 3:15 p.m. This event will feature comprehensive coverage of technologies that help enable strong authentication in government identity programs and will survey opportunities and challenges for government issuers, accreditation and testing authorities and procurement programs.

Taylor’s presentation, titled “Implementing Mobile Derived Credentials for Federal PIV Use” will discuss the increasing trend of mobile devices replacing the traditional desktop, how to secure these mobile devices utilizing derived credentials to help enable anytime-anywhere access to agency intranets and email for government employees and explore lessons learned from other successful implementations.

“Today, 32 percent of workers are mobile and on average, they use 3.5 mobile devices daily,” said Taylor.  “Now is the time for government agencies to start exploring technologies that will enable them to provide secure access to networks for their employees. The Smart Card Alliance Government Conference is an excellent forum to discuss new technologies such as derived credentials that will give government agencies and employees this freedom and flexibility while maintaining strong security.”

Entrust and Datacard Group will also be exhibiting at the conference, booth #314. Datacard Group acquired Entrust in late 2013 and the product demonstrations at the show will feature combined solutions that range from citizen enrollment and ID document issuance to technologies for authentication, renewal and revocation of physical and digital credentials.

To-date, Datacard Group and Entrust are implemented in 18 of the 20 largest e-government programs and has over 400 government projects around the world.  Additionally, roughly 165,000 passports, 10 million credentials, and 5 million smart cards are issued daily using the company’s solutions.
