MINNETONKA, Minn.—(Nov. 03, 2014)—Datacard Group today announced the addition of the Datacard® SD160™ card printer to their SD Series product suite which is designed to meet a wide range of issuance applications for corporate, healthcare, student, visitor and local government IDs – while lowering overall total cost of ownership.
Rounding out the company’s SD Series line, the SD160 printer joins the Datacard® SD260TM, Datacard® SD360™ and Datacard® SD460™ card printers to complete the portfolio. Customers now have the ability to choose the most appropriate desktop printing solution that meets the needs of their program and budget.
The SD160 printer features a combination of technologies including: full color, monochrome and rewrite printing which reduces time and cost associated with reissuance; inline magnetic stripe encoding for physical or logical access control and machine readable authentication; and a unique ultraviolet (UV) feature, available when used with the SD160’s security ribbon supply, that prints an invisible variable UV image over the card adding covert security. The SD160 printer is a cost-effective solution that can be scaled as program requirements evolve – which protects an organization’s bottom line.
“With the addition of the SD160 printer, we are pleased to offer organizations a complete suite of products that can support a wide range of ID issuance technologies in a variety of markets,” said Connell Smith, vice president of desktop and supplies product marketing for Datacard Group. “This entry-level printer delivers affordability, simplicity and security to help organizations get their ID issuance programs started.”
The new SD160 printer will be on display at CARTES SECURE CONNEXIONS taking place on Nov. 4-6, 2014, stand #3F004. Please visit us at the show to see a live demonstration.
