Entrust Consumer Authentication “Leads the Pack” in KuppingerCole’s 2019 Leadership Compass Report

Entrust was cited as the Overall Leader in industry analyst firm KuppingerCole's global 2019 Leadership Compass for Consumer Authentication. The report is designed to help organizations find the technology providers with the best overall product, functionality, innovation and market vision for this category.

KuppingerCole's comprehensive Leadership Compass compares 21 vendors across several criteria, reflecting varieties of use cases, experiences, business rules, and technical capabilities required by KuppingerCole clients, and anticipated needs for the future. The evaluation model included:

  • Overall functionality and usability
  • Internal product and service security
  • Size of the company
  • Number of customers and end-user consumers
  • Number of developers
  • Partner ecosystem
  • Licensing models

In addition, KuppingerCole reviewed several functional areas, including:

  • APIs
  • Authenticators
  • Fraud and threat intel
  • Mobile security
  • Risk analytics
  • Scalability

Consumer Authentication Leadership Compass Report Overall Leader

Entrust was cited as the Overall Leader, in part, for its "excellent history of providing high-security solutions," such as IntelliTrust™ and IdentityGuard. The report found that Entrust "leads the pack" in the Overall Leader category, and was identified as an industry leader in the Product Leadership, Innovation Leadership and Market Leadership categories.

In the report, John Tolbert, Lead Analyst & Managing Director, KuppingerCole US, said "eCommerce businesses and other organizations that interact directly with end users over the web are increasingly looking for better solutions for authenticating those users. Entrust commands a large share of the global EMV and PKI markets and has thousands of customers across the globe, serving millions of users, in both the B2C and B2E space. Based on the report criteria, the company should be on the short list for organizations looking for secure consumer authentication capabilities."
