It’s no secret – the cloud and mobile are reshaping the enterprise.

At Entrust Datacard, we’ve long been talking about the digital revolution blurring the lines between professional and personal. Transitioning to the cloud is no longer a luxury, but a competitive necessity.

According to an IDC Mobile Worker Forecast, three in five enterprise employees regularly work outside of the office. What’s more, workers use an average of three devices every day to complete their work, according to Citrix. Despite overwhelming evidence supporting the need for robust, cloud-based security, most companies struggle on the path to digital transformation and lack fully-evolved digital plans.

Why is that? Administrative costs, compliance issues, and technical capabilities are just a few of the reasons holding organizations back.

That’s why I’m excited to roll out our newest intelligent identity platform, IntelliTrust. IntelliTrust brings the best possible security of smart credentials from the on-premise world of management to mobile devices and the cloud without the complexities of building or managing its infrastructure. Entrust Datacard handles that part for you.

Now, the next generation of adaptive authentication – from biometrics to behavioral attributes – is available to more organizations than before and we’re proud to be among the first in the industry to bring these capabilities to our customers with IntelliTrust.

Historically, businesses navigating the digital revolution had to buy and maintain an on-premise management solution on their own servers and make heavy investments in sophisticated IT and dev ops teams, challenges that were often compounded when PKIs were added to the mix. Now, Entrust Datacard is taking on the burden of managing those credentials via the cloud, and we offer different deployment options to suit your individual business needs.

What’s even more exciting is that IntelliTrust represents the next generation of authentication in the enterprise. Included among its many capabilities, for example, is proximity-based smart card emulation for hands-free access to physical buildings and desktop computers. Gone are many of the user friction points that come with introducing new security solutions. Whatever the industry – banking, government or telecoms – best-in-class security and a seamless UX no matter the platform are both possible.

In an era where phishing hacks are becoming increasingly sophisticated and the number of organizational breaches are on the rise, employees are one of the biggest vulnerabilities. Our hope is that IntelliTrust will help organizations mitigate some of those risks and prepare the best possible defense without compromising competitiveness.
