MINNEAPOLIS—(Nov. 27, 2017)—Entrust Datacard, a leading provider of trusted identity and secure transaction technologies, today announced that it has won a contract from NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in Pasadena, California to help develop frictionless and highly secure user access to information systems.
Entrust Datacard will participate in an advanced authentication lab at JPL aimed at innovations that provide an authentication experience that can increase security while transforming the user experience.
As the workforce becomes more remote and mobile devices are becoming a primary computing device, it is important that users are fully enabled to perform tasks securely — across all platforms — with as little disruption as possible. Entrust Datacard™ robust authentication solutions provide their users with streamlined access to an authentication engine that includes high levels of adaptive authentication capabilities.
“We have been serving the most security-conscious organization for decades and their needs are evolving to streamline business interactions and improve the user experience,” said Ryan Zlockie, vice president of authentication solutions for Entrust Datacard. “It is no longer acceptable to only focus innovation on security; we need to put just as much effort into a transformational user experience.” He continues, “We call this ‘Taking the F out of Authentication.’ By ‘F’ we mean the factors, friction and frustration a user typically experiences from an authentication solution.”
Entrust Datacard’s role in the authentication lab will focus on the user experience — enablement, productivity and satisfaction — with a goal of eventually eliminating the need for passwords and move beyond traditional smart cards, empowering employees to work natively from the phone and also leverage it as an aspect of their digital identity.
An adaptive experience applies intelligent security capabilities behind the scene to deploy and solve security needs. By unlocking a positive user experience, NASA JPL experts will be able to focus on the extraordinary and not the barriers preventing them from accessing critical work applications.
Entrust Datacard and NASA JPL are co-presenting a session at the upcoming Gartner Identity and Access Management (IAM) Summit Nov. 28-30 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada. Attendees to the conference can meet with Entrust Datacard in booth 415 and attend the session titled, Entrust Datacard: NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory: Fueling the Journey to Mars with Modern Identity, on Wed., Nov. 29 at 3:15 p.m.
Zlockie continued, “We’re committed to providing our customers and partners, especially those in highly regulated, highly secure environments, with the best possible authentication experience. Enabling access and innovation, while not compromising security, is paramount to generating brilliant ideas.”
