Dear valued customer

I’m delighted to announce that Entrust Datacard has completed the acquisition of Entrust Security, a market leader in the general purpose hardware security module (HSM) market, which was formerly owned by Thales Group. Entrust has been operating as a separate stand-alone business within Thales since January 2019 and will now operate as a business segment within Entrust Datacard.

Entrust Datacard offers the trusted identity and secure transaction technologies that make anytime, anywhere experiences for consumers, citizens and employees both reliable and secure. Its solutions range from the physical world of financial cards, passports and ID cards to the digital realm of authentication, certificates and secure communications. Both companies are proven market leaders and have exceptional reputations and security expertise and experience.

Together Entrust Datacard and Entrust will accelerate innovation to support your digital initiatives such as mobility, cloud, IoT, blockchain and digital payments. Delivering solutions that help you grow your business while simultaneously protecting your data, managing ever-growing cyber risks and meeting new compliance mandates.

Creating a cybersecurity powerhouse - Entrust Security is now part of Entrust Datacard

Having partnered with Entrust Datacard for many years there is a powerful synergy between our solutions with many joint customers relying on nShield HSMs to provide a root of trust for their critical business applications. Jointly we are in a unique position to provide trusted security and identity solutions and services in digital payments, card issuance, public key infrastructure (PKI) and the internet of things.

As stated in our previous correspondence, as of May 1, 2019, Entrust became is its own legal entity and as of that date all agreements, contracts, quotes and orders for the nShield product portfolio, support and services, are entered into under one of the Entrust Security legal entities, dependent on your geographic location. A reminder of these details can be found at the end of this letter.

As we integrate into Entrust Datacard, we will be converting all nShield solutions from the Thales branding to Entrust branding. There will not be any changes to part numbers or functionality. During this transition our nShield solutions may display or use the Thales marks, however all enquiries, correspondence or claims in connection with any nShield solution should be directed to Entrust . If you have any import or regulatory licenses that are based on, or tied to, the Thales brand, you may be required to update your licenses with the Entrust brand. Please check with your respective Export/Import Control Authority.

I very much welcome the opportunity to join Entrust Datacard, a move that will ensure Entrust continues to be a market leader in the general purpose HSM space as well as accelerate our strategy and innovation to bring you additional trusted services and solutions.

If you have any questions regarding this, please contact your account representative.
