As part of this strategy, NCB sought to enhance convenience and speed for customers by introducing instant card issuance services at high-traffic locations such as Sun World entertainment complexes and select branches. These destinations attract millions of visitors annually, creating a unique opportunity to boost card adoption and usage.

To achieve this vision, NCB needed a secure, scalable solution that could integrate seamlessly with its digital onboarding process and deliver personalized cards in minutes.

NCB faced several critical challenges as it worked to scale its retail banking operations and digital channels:

  • Lengthy issuance times: Traditional card issuance took 5–7 days, limiting NCB’s ability to serve time-sensitive customers—especially tourists.
  • Operational bottlenecks: Manual processes at branches slowed service and strained resources.
  • Agility for campaigns: NCB needed flexible issuance capabilities to support dynamic product launches and marketing initiatives.
  • Growing demand for cashless payments: Customers increasingly expected instant onboarding and immediate card activation.

Without a secure, integrated instant issuance solution, NCB risked losing competitive advantage and missing opportunities to engage high-spending segments.

To overcome these challenges, NCB implemented the Entrust Instant Financial Issuance (IFI) solution, integrated by MK Group into self-service kiosks deployed at branches and Sun World sites.

Entrust provided the secure issuance backbone, including Instant Financial Issuance Software, Sigma DS4K card printers, and Hardware Security Modules (HSMs) to protect sensitive data and help ensure compliance. MK Group handled system design, integration, and technical support across more than 20 kiosks, while a kiosk provider delivered hardware and user interface design.

Customer Journey Highlights:

  1. Apply & eKYC: Customers apply via NCB’s iziMobile app and complete digital identity verification.
  2. Authenticate at Kiosk: Scan a QR code to confirm issuance.
  3. Instant Pickup: A fully personalized card is printed within minutes—ready for immediate use.

This seamless process combines mobile convenience with physical card delivery, creating a frictionless, unified experience for customers.
