How to set up Fill & Sign in Adobe Sign for Entrust Remote Signing Service

 

Adobe Sign offers two ways to sign documents:

  • Request signatures feature
  • Fill and sign a document feature

While Request signatures do not require any special settings, the Fill and sign a document does require modifying some of the default settings for it to work correctly with the Entrust Remote Signing Service.

This procedure will walk you through the setting changes required to use the Fill & Sign feature with Entrust Remote Signing Service.

Fill and sign a document feature

In the current version of Adobe Sign, the Fill & Sign feature does not support OAuth authorizations. For more information, see the Things to Know section at https://helpx.adobe.com/sign/using/digital-signatures.html. Adobe is planning to add this support in the upcoming release of Adobe Sign in April 2022.

When Fill & Sign is not correctly configured and a Signer user tries to use it, they will get the following error message:

The procedure to modify the Fill & Sign settings depends on the Adobe Sign edition that you are using:

Note: If you are using other editions of Adobe Sign, the Fill & Sign feature will not work with the Entrust Remote Signing Service until Fill & Sign supports OAuth authorizations.

Modifying the Fill & Sign settings in Adobe Sign Enterprise

Follow the steps below:

1.  Open Adobe Sign Enterprise.

2. In the top menu, click Account.

3. Click Account Settings > Global Settings on the left menu.
4. Look for the Self Signing Workflows section and modify the following settings:

  • Leave Enable self-signing workflows selected.
  • Unselect Default to the Fill & Sign experience.
  • Unselect Allow users to switch between the Fill & Sign experience and the Only I Sign experience.

5. Click Save.

Modifying the Fill & Sign settings in Adobe Sign Developer Edition

Follow the steps below:

1. Open Adobe Sign Developer Edition.

2. On the top menu, click Account.

3. Click Account Settings > Send Settings on the left menu.

4. Look for the New Fill & Sign Experience section and modify the following settings:

  • Unselect Default to the new Fill & Sign experience.
  • Unselect Allow users to switch between the new Fill & Sign experience and the classic Structured Self Sign experience.

5. Click Save.
