Solution Description

As an Entrust Ready Technology Partner, VMware and Entrust have worked together for over a decade to strengthen security of customer deployments. Entrust adds value to VMware solutions by extending the security to the entire VMware stack, expanding the VMware customer footprint, and increasing the adoption of VMware licenses.

VMware solutions integrate with a variety of Entrust products that are VMware certified and listed in the VMware marketplace.

VMware vSphere, vSAN, and VCF (Cloud Foundation) integrate with Entrust CloudControl to provide secondary approvals, role-based access control, automated hardening controls, multi-factor authentication (MFA), and inventory management. VMware vSphere and vSAN also integrate with Entrust KeyControl for VM, vSAN, and vTPM key isolation and protection, as well as boot and data partitioning and encryption. For an added FIPS 140-2 Level 3 certified hardware root of trust, VMware vSphere and vSAN can also integrate with Entrust nShield hardware security modules (HSMs), available on-premises or as a service.

VMware Tanzu integrates with Entrust CloudControl to provide secondary approvals, role-based access controls, hardening, and attribute-based access controls. VMware Tanzu also integrates with Entrust KeyControl to protect and securely manage access to container secrets. For an added FIPS 140-2 Level 3 certified hardware root of trust, VMware Tanzu can also integrate with Entrust nShield HSMs.

VMware NSX integrates with Entrust CloudControl to provide secondary approvals, role-based access control, hardening, and virtual network protection.

VMware Workspace One integrates with Entrust Identity Enterprise for personal identity verification (PIV-D) and derived credential management.

Entrust can also deliver certificates to VMware solutions through Entrust PKI and provide strong identities for enhanced access controls and cybersecurity posture. Entrust PKI is available on-premises or as a service (PKIaaS) to protect the entire VMware stack, applications, VMs, and users.

Business Value
Integrations highlighted above enable joint customers to extend organizational security posture across a wide range of use cases, facilitating security auditing and compliance to government and industry regulatory mandates.
