DALLAS—(Sept. 18, 2014)—Entrust Senior Vice President, Product Management and Marketing Communications, David Rockvam will serve as a panelist at the 2014 IEEE Rock Stars of Cybersecurity Conference in Austin, Texas. The panel discussion “Cybersecurity: Is the Goal to Find a Cure, Improve Prevention, or Both?” will take place on Sept. 24th from 2:00 p.m. –3:00 p.m. The event will bring together well-respected cybersecurity experts from leading companies to share best practices for identifying weaknesses in the cyber ecosystem and protecting infrastructures from cyber-attacks.
The panel discussion that Rockvam will participate in will discuss the trends driving the need for increased cybersecurity and outline the importance of focusing on both finding a cure and improving cyber-attack prevention strategies in order to provide appropriate levels of safety and security at home and at work. The panel will highlight the implications these two approaches have on consumers, businesses, internet providers, government and non-government agencies.
“With annual cybercrime costs projected to reach $630B by 2017 and recent data breaches threatening the security of consumer data, it’s imperative that organizations start to evaluate and improve their cyber-attack prevention strategies,” said Rockvam. “The 2014 IEEE Rock Stars of Cybersecurity Conference will be a valuable forum for organizations to learn about new technologies that can help them safeguard sensitive data from physical and logical threats.”
