MINNEAPOLIS—(March 5, 2018)Entrust Datacard, a leading provider of trusted identity and secure transaction technology solutions, today announced the release of the new Drop on Demand (DoD) Printing Module for the Datacard® MX8100™ and MX6100™ Card Issuance Systems. Flat card personalization is gaining acceptance around the world with some regions adopting at a faster pace. The Datacard® MX Series systems gives the flexibility and investment protection to adapt as needs change.

Adding to an already impressive lineup of flat card printing options, including durable graphics, indent, laser engraving and traditional multi-step thermal printing/protective overlay applications, the Datacard® DoD Printing Module is engineered for industrial production environments running high-volume jobs. The DoD Printing Module meets financial card durability requirements without the need for overlays or topcoats by employing specially formulated, fast-curing ink and inkjet printing technology. The all-in-one module is designed with a highly accurate card handling system to help ensure efficiency and data integrity.

“Your cards are your brand. The design of the cards you issue is the most tangible brand experience you can provide to your customers. You want unique visual appeal and true differentiation.” said Dan Good, vice president, payment and identity issuance solutions at Entrust Datacard.

Built on proven Datacard MX Series technologies, the Datacard DoD Printing Module stands out in the market. Familiar software and system setups ease production integration to help ensure the transition to drop on demand flat card technologies. Operators and service teams will appreciate the printing reliability and automated maintenance advances designed to help enable system uptime.
The DoD Printing Module features high resolution, full-color (CMY) or black and white printing. Utilizing native 600 dpi printheads for CMYK and 360 dpi for white, along with precise card handling to provide high quality printing. To meet market needs, the module is available in two configurations: CMYK-W and black-white.

The new Drop on Demand Printing Module is currently available for MX Series system users and allows for fast and easy implementation. Learn more about Central Card Issuance solutions from Entrust Datacard: https://www.entrustdatacard.com/pages/Flat-Card-Printing.
