MUMBAI, India—(Nov. 23, 2015)—Entrust Datacard today announced that the company participated in a two-day event, “Simply Payments 2015,” which was organized by Financial Software and Systems (FSS) at Planet Hollywood Beach Resort, Goa from 29 – 31 October, 2015.

The event brought together 150 senior banking professionals sharing key transformational challenges and strategies to catapult their payments business.  As technology continues to evolve the way financial organizations do business today, there is an increasing need to provide creative, design-focused, customer-centric and streamlined experiences to customers.

The event touched upon global best practices and facilitated exchange of views on the subject, enabling participants to define their own approach for improved and better customer experiences – such as the impact on branch transformation and in-branch instant issuance of cards.

“This is an ideal stage to talk about various innovative payments solutions,” said Rajiv Singh, managing director of South Asia, Entrust Datacard. “We are excited to see great interactions with bankers during the show and see them taking interest in instant issuance of debit cards.  We have seen an increase in global growth of instant issuance because financial organizations recognize it as a value-add to their business to help increase customer satisfaction and retention rates.  It’s great to see that the region is also taking interest in this and looking to implement the technology at branches throughout South Asia.”

FSS had set up a demo environment for attendees to get a firsthand understanding of how instant issuance works – showcasing account opening, instant printing of debit/credit card, how consumers can use the card at a point-of-sale (POS) terminal or at an ecommerce desk, and finally how to use the same card at an ATM.  This demonstration highlighted how quickly the process is for consumers and the versatility of the card.

FSS is a leader in payments technology and transaction processing that provides secure, scalable and seamless card issuance in the Indian market. Entrust Datacard and FSS have a strategic partnership in place that enables FSS to offer Entrust Datacard’s instant, in-branch card issuance solutions to support various social security and financial inclusion initiatives throughout the region.  “Simply Payments 2015,” is an initiative that was created by FSS to open windows of digital opportunities for banks.
