MINNEAPOLIS—July 9, 2019— Consumer demand for attention-grabbing flat cards is rapidly growing – by 2021, more than one in five credit or debit cards are likely to be a flat card. Entrust Datacard, a leading provider of trusted identity and secure transaction technology solutions, announces the launch of the Datacard® MX9100™ Card Issuance System — the most advanced and feature-rich flat card personalization platform to help bureaus meet that demand.

"Consumers want flat cards because they deliver an elevated look and feel — the format lets marketers differentiate their cards through creative graphics and flexible card layouts," said Dan Good, vice president of Bureau Solutions at Entrust Datacard. "Keeping up with this rising demand makes productivity, reliability, uptime and total cost of ownership critical for bureaus. The MX9100 System meets these needs, incorporating new technologies to support increased speed, while exceeding the reliability customers have come to expect from our MX Series Systems."

Banks, governments and other card issuers need speed, power and control to build successful card programs. The MX9100 System delivers the card industry's highest quality, real-world output of 4,000 cards per hour (CPH), using best-in-class UV-curable printing technology and high-speed laser engraving for superior image quality.

Get more done, reduce waste, and improve compliance

The MX Series platform's efficient design allows operators to get more done within a production shift, and helps to reduce waste by testing and verifying a single card before running an entire job. The platform provides increased security for data at rest, in transit and in use, deploying a new Windows 10 Operating System combined with physical safeguards — critical features that make it easier to pass rigorous security audits.

Designed with the future in mind

MX Series Card Issuance Systems offer true field modularity and share a common software platform, reducing costs and efforts associated with upgrades, expansion, operator training and system maintenance. Simulation software enhances efficiency by providing offline optimization of data files and job setups. The system is highly configurable, providing issuers a path to expand their capacity or incorporate the latest capabilities as they become available.

In addition, the MX9100 System enables an efficient, complete card-to-finished mail packaging solution though integration with Datacard Card Delivery Systems. The MX9100 System can be purchased as a standalone card issuance system or as an inline system with the Datacard® MXD810™ Card Delivery System and the Datacard® MXi810™ Envelope Insertion System.

"The ability to configure and adapt the MX9100 System and the MX Series platform provides strong investment protection and minimizes financial risk for our customers as market needs change," Good said.

Like all MX Series Card Issuance Systems, the MX9100 System is backed by Entrust Datacard's 24/7 online and phone support with a broad portfolio of services spanning more than 150 countries worldwide.
