Entrust Hosts Live Demonstration of Mobile Device Derived Credentials
DALLAS — May 1, 2014 — Entrust, Inc., the leading provider of identity-based security solutions, will host a live demonstration today in the Carlton Ballroom of the St. Regis Washington, D.C., 1 p.m. EDT, to reveal the newly released FIPS 201-2 standard, which outlines Derived PIV credentials for mobile devices.
The event, which is open to the general public, will demonstrate secure browser, encryption of email, document signing and document access as they pertain to mobile solutions from Entrust, Acronis, Silanis and Thursby software security vendors. Entrust will introduce its Mobile Derived Credential solution, based on NIST draft specification SP800-157.
“The increasing use of mobile requires a solution that allows employees to use their existing government issued PIV cards in order to derive credentials that are stored on the mobile device,” Entrust senior product manager Chris Taylor said. “Securely storing credentials on their mobile devices allows individuals to transform associated applications into a secure enterprise desktop.”
Coming soon, the Entrust Mobile Derived Credential solution will be added to Thursby Software’s PKard® Toolkit, allowing customers to perform secure transactions on a mobile device while increasing usability and decreasing costs. Thursby’s ecosystem partners will be able to leverage the Entrust Mobile Derived Credential solution as well, providing an alternative to a standard physical PIV card.
