Please note that Windows Server 2012 does not support Certification Authority Authorization (CAA) as it does not contain the Resource Record Type for CAA or for an UNKNOWN record .

In other words, you may not add a CAA record in Windows Server 2012 . You may, however, add a CAA record in Windows Server 2016 .
