Internationalized Domain Names (IDNs)
are used for Unicode domain names that contain special characters rather than US-ASCII, the Unicode are converted using ASCII format called “Punycode”.
Example: “café.com” = “xn--caf-dma.com”
Does Entrust Datacard certificates support IDNs?
Yes, Entrust Datacard SSL Certificates fully support Internationalized Domain Names (IDNs). To add an IDN to your certificate you will need to first convert it from Unicode to Punycode, in the following link is a tool that will assist you in converting to Punycode http://www.charset.org/punycode.php
Adding Domains:
Entrust Certificate Services (ECS) Enterprise: To add a IDN domain in ECS Enterprise, you are required to login to the account and follow the steps listed below:
1. Select: Domains > Add Domain
2. Select the Client name and then enter the Punycode domain
3. Click on “Submit Request”
You will receive an e-mail notification once the domain has been approved by the Verification Team.
