Entrust Datacard Joins the VMware Mobile Security Alliance to Take on Growing Threats Against Mobile Devices

MINNEAPOLIS—(Sept. 12, 2017)—Entrust Datacard, a leading provider of trusted identity and secure transaction technology solutions, today announced that it has joined the VMware Mobile Security Alliance. The Mobile Security Alliance (MSA) integrates the industry’s leading mobile security solutions with the VMware Workspace ONE digital workspace platform powered by VMware AirWatch technology — creating a powerful alliance that unifies threat security for business mobility against cyber-attacks.

The technology collaboration enables both companies to leverage the new Entrust Datacard™ mobile derived credential offering which embeds a virtual smartcard, derived from the user’s certificated based identity, into native apps and services such as mail, WiFi and secured applications — all via the technology in VMware Workspace ONE. The secure, simple and scalable option protects mobile devices, apps, networks and cloud services through integrated security. The solution complements Entrust Datacard’s existing integration with the VMware AirWatch Enterprise Mobility Management solution, which is currently leveraging Entrust Datacard PKI capabilities to better secure mobile devices.
