For the 30th year, Entrust Datacard is in Paris attending, exhibiting and speaking at CARTES Secure Connexions – the world’s leading trade show for secure and trusted solutions in payment, identification and mobility. Throughout our time in Paris we’ll keep you updated on the exciting things taking place during the show.

Day one of CARTES kicked off with Todd Wilkinson, president and CEO of Entrust Datacard, speaking during the Opening Summit of the conference. During his remarks, Todd commented on the need for a new perspective on identity – traditional views and approaches will not be enough moving forward, our current view of identity allows too many opportunities for vulnerabilities. Therefore, we must evolve into viewing identity as a 360° view of who we are, with identity at the center. Todd indicated that going forward we will need to utilize strong authentication tools coupled with traditional physical identity elements to create the trusted identities we need to live, work, travel and transact in our changing world. This new view of who we are is why our goal at Entrust Datacard is to create identity and security solutions that make all of our lives more secure and more convenient.

During the conference Entrust Datacard experts will speak to conference attendees on a variety of topics. Wednesday, speaking sessions include:

  • Tim Klabunde, director of marketing, government services, speaking to conference attendees about the power of combining physical and digital security elements within eGovernment programs.
  • Mike Byrnes, senior product marketing manager, talking about the online mobile banking experience, growing consumer concerns about identity theft within mobile banking apps and authentication solutions available that can help financial institutions safeguard consumer’s identities and provide better customer service.

At the conference we also have a large stand where Entrust Datacard experts are on hand to meet with attendees and provide live demonstrations of our many secure credential, payment card and eGovernment service solutions which provide for trusted identities and secure transactions.

Finally, we would be remiss to not address the tragedy that occurred in Paris. Our thoughts are with those who were affected by the attacks on Friday, Nov. 13 and we are happy to show our support to the city and the people of Paris by attending the conference as planned.
