SINGAPORE—(Sept. 30, 2015)—Entrust Datacard today announced that the State Bank of India (SBI) recently won the Best Omni-Channel Payment Initiative award during the Cards and Electronic Payments International (CEPI) Asia Awards 2015 based on a nomination by Entrust Datacard. The award-winning nomination outlined SBI’s implementation of instant issuance debit cards through an in-branch self-service kiosk, a service which allows the bank to differentiate itself from competition and to better meet the needs of today’s consumer.

“Since opening seven sbiINTOUCH branch outlets immersed with digital capabilities including an integrated instant debit card issuance kiosk solution, SBI has been able to offer an online self-service banking model to their customers which includes one-view of accounts, banking and wealth management advice and predictive digital analytics. In addition, the solution enhances service delivery, provides better response time, and includes personalized offers,” said Angus McDougall, Entrust Datacard regional vice president, Asia Pacific. “Entrust Datacard is pleased to have partnered with SBI to help bring this solution to fruition. This win clearly demonstrates the proven technology of Datacard® CardWizard® instant issuance software coupled with Datacard® CE870™ instant issuance systems, and shows how we can help our customers achieve their business vision and catapult them to the next level of technology, putting them ahead of their competition.”

Organized by Timetric, the CEPI Asia Awards recognize market-leading offerings in payment cards, mobile and e-payments, remittances, merchant acquiring, and marketing campaigns in each of the Asia-Pacific region’s key markets. The awards are the premier regional awards which reflect the latest trends in the cards and payments arenas, and highlight noteworthy initiatives in the Asia-Pacific region over the last 18 months.
