Entrust Secure Web Portal course

Course Overview

The Entrust Secure Web Portal course is a comprehensive, hands-on treatment of the Entrust Secure Web Portal Solution. The week begins with an overview of the Entrust Infrastructure architecture and components. The encryption and digital signature processes are discussed, as are the certificates and components of an Entrust solution. Students will have an opportunity to perform administrative tasks associated with the Entrust Authority™ Security Manager. The course continues with an overview of the threats to Web commerce and a discussion of the difference between basic and enhanced Web security. Students are provided with in-depth technical information about each of the Entrust products that provide security in a Web business environment (such as Entrust TruePass™ and Entrust GetAccess™. They will have an opportunity in hands-on labs to perform planning, installation, configuration, and administrative tasks for these products. In addition, students will integrate Entrust GetAccess™ with Entrust TruePass™ authentication.

Course Objectives

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

• Demonstrate how the processes of encryption and digital signature factor in the solution to an organization’s data security requirements.
• Describe the basic architecture of an Entrust solution, including the function of the various applications and processes.
• Perform installations of the Entrust Authority™ Enrollment Server for Web, Entrust Authority™ Self-Administration Server, Entrust TruePass™, and Entrust GetAccess™ products.
• Perform management tasks for the Entrust products.
• Customize the roles, policy and groups of users in an Entrust solution.
• Integrate Entrust TruePass™ authentication mechanisms with Entrust GetAccess™.

Prerequisites

• Experience with Windows 2000 Server
• Experience with Web servers
• Basic knowledge of Web protocols (e.g. HTTP, SSL)
