Token authentication provides stronger security for enterprises
Enterprises today are increasingly relying on token authentication to help achieve greater security. Token authentication is a component of multifactor authentication technology, which requires users to verify their identity by providing a combination of things they know (passwords or PINs), attributes they possess (fingerprints or retinal scans) and things they have (smartcards or tokens). Using token authentication adds another layer of security and dramatically increases the level of protection the enterprise can achieve. When companies around the globe want the best token authentication solutions on the market, they choose Entrust.
Entrust delivers leading token authentication technology
Entrust's market-leading products provide layered security solutions for enterprises, governments and consumers in 60 countries. Entrust offers several token authentication solutions designed to be part of a two factor approach to authentication.
Entrust USB Tokens, developed in collaboration with SafeNet, help enable strong two-factor authentication to desktops, VPNs, WLANs and Web portals. These portable tokens can plug directly into a computer's USB port or be connected via an extension cable. When users log in to an application, they are prompted to enter a PIN that must match the PIN within the token. Authentication happens and access is granted when the PINs match and the appropriate digital credentials are passed to the network. PINs are encrypted for even greater security in this token authentication technology.
Entrust USB Tokens offer superior authentication benefits. Removing the Entrust USB Token will prevent other users from accessing the current secure session. The user's digital identity stored on an Entrust USB Token can also be used for digital signatures and encryption. Tokens cannot be duplicated and are durable against normal wear and tear. And the plug-and-play nature of Entrust token authentication helps minimize the cost of training and contact with the IT helpdesk.
Solutions for authentication for Web, smartcards, tokens and more
Other Entrust solutions for token authentication include:
- Entrust IdentityGuard Mini Token. This versatile and convenient token provides strong authentication via a one-time passcode. The Entrust IdentityGuard Mini Token eliminates barriers to implementing tokens as part of a multifactor authentication program. This product has a smart, simple, one-button design, is easy to deploy and use, and features OATH and DES/3DES algorithm support.
- Entrust supports a wide variety of industry smartcards through smartcard integration with Entrust Authority Security Manager PKI.
