Jonathan Penn Principal Analyst Forrester

Jonathan is a principal analyst in Forrester's Security research group, covering identity management and security. He assists clients in the development of identity management strategy, implementation of supporting technologies, and the application of identity management to business processes and policies. Jonathan advises clients on the planning and architecture issues relating to directories, single sign-on, authentication, and access management. Jonathan's expertise extends to the development and enforcement of security policies. He also advises clients in the areas of secure email, content security, and anti-spam.

Jonathan came to Forrester through its acquisition of Giga Information Group. Prior to joining Giga, he was an analyst covering messaging, collaboration, and directories. Jonathan previously worked as an engineer and product manager for a several hi-tech companies where he developed device drivers for the Windows and NetWare platforms and commercial applications, including the first software RAID solution for Windows 95 and NT.

Jonathan holds an M.S. in computer science from Stanford University and a B.S. in mathematics from the University of Pennsylvania.
