Senior Vice President Entrust Certificate Services & Chief Marketing Officer
Under David Rockvam, Entrust Certificate Services has seen a rapid expansion, more than doubling since the company went private in 2009. This growth has helped Entrust shift from a mainly perpetual software company to a cloud software-as-a-service company, deriving roughly 60 percent of product revenue from cloud, software-as-a-service or subscription-based offerings.
As chief marketing officer, Rockvam led the company through two successful strategic branding campaigns and helped shape the focus, drive and execution of the marketing team. This largely centered on the fastest-growing areas in the information security space — mobile and cloud services. As the need to secure digital identities has never been more pertinent, Rockvam helps smartly position Entrust’s strong global presence and leadership in identity-based security.
Rockvam joined Entrust in 1998 as a senior manager where he helped drive relationships with system integrators and consultants, and also lead marketing programs to help increase Entrust’s professional services revenues. Rockvam’s broad experience includes significant involvement in Entrust’s initial public offering in 1998. Since then, he has helped lead the company’s customer value-add initiatives, enhanced analyst relationships and streamlined external communications across the financial and press communities.
Prior to his appointment as general manager of Entrust Certificate Services in February 2010, Rockvam served as vice president of corporate business development and chief investor relations officer. As chief investor relations officer, Rockvam led and shaped Entrust communications with investors, financial analysts and financial press. His time in investor relations played a crucial role in the go private in 2009, ultimately resulting in the acquisition of Entrust by Thoma Bravo.
Before joining Entrust, Rockvam held positions in finance and accounting at Nortel Networks through the mid ‘90s; where he was a member of Nortel’s Financial Leadership Development Program (FLDP) for high potential employees.
Rockvam is a graduate of Texas Tech University where he received an undergraduate degree in international trade and economics. He also holds a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Texas at Dallas.
