Opening Entrust Password Protected Files

Entrust Password Unprotect is a desktop utility designed to open files encrypted with a password, sent to you by an Entrust Entelligence™ Desktop Solutions user, increasing the level of file security used — simply and easily.

This Entrust utility is easy to download and install. Once the utility is installed, simply double-click on the protected file, enter the password, and the file will be accessible. There is no requirement for any other security software to be installed on your desktop.

Before you proceed with your download, please note the following:

  • This version is scheduled for end of life June 30, 2010 and was designed to work with the Password Protect capability in Entrust Entelligence Desktop Solutions, which generates .enp files.
  • There is a new Password Encrypt capability in Entrust Entelligence Security Provider 9.1, and as well as a new Password Decrypt utility has been created. It is able to open both the legacy .enp files AND the new Password Encrypted .pp7m file types.
  • The new Password Decrypt utility only supports the English language currently, and as such, we still make available the legacy Password Unprotect version in it's multiple language versions on this page.
  • This legacy Password Unprotect utility does not and will not support current versions of Windows software such as Windows Vista and Windows 7.
  • To obtain the new Password Decrypt utility, go to www.entrust.com/passworddecrypt/
  • You will be required to read and acknowledge the evaluation and commercial software license agreements prior to download. Please read the terms and conditions carefully.
  • Because of international regulations regarding the export of cryptographic software, Entrust Password Unprotect MAY NOT be downloaded to certain countries.
  • In France and Russia, regulations regarding the import of cryptographic software stipulate that Entrust Password Unprotect may not be downloaded to these countries without appropriate permits.
