Activcard Trinity Secure Sign-On Solution Achieves Entrust Ready Status

Trinity? and Entrust Entelligence? Software Work Together to Offer Strong Desktop Authentication and Effortless Sign-on Experience

FREMONT, CA - ActivCard? (NASDAQ: ACTI / NASDAQ EUROPE: ACTI), the leader in IDentity Management (IDM) software for remote access, secure sign-on, and digital ID card solutions, today announced that Trinity? Secure Sign-On v4.2 SP1 has achieved Entrust Ready? status from Entrust (NASDAQ: ENTU), a leader in securing digital identities and information, for interoperability with Entrust Entelligence? software, version 6.1.

Trinity enhances login to Entrust Entelligence desktop software and digital identity credentials with strong multi-factor authentication using smart cards, fingerprint biometrics, tokens, passwords, or a combination of these technologies. With Trinity, the login process for Entrust Entelligence users is simple given that the need to manually enter name and password into the Entrust login screen can be eliminated. Trinity also can prompt the user for a strong authentication and then perform an automated sign-on to Entrust, or perform a transparent login that leverages an earlier strong authentication to the workstation.

After Trinity authenticates the user's identity, it can randomize the passwords used for login to the Entrust Entelligence software. Password randomization strengthens security via auto-generated hacker-proof passwords that comply with the policy rules set by the administrator. Trinity can further protect Entrust digital ID credentials by storing them on a secure, portable smart card. Biometric authentication can also be utilized to bind users to their digital credentials - preventing anyone else from unauthorized access.
