Entrust Solution to Provide a Secure Intranet and VPN

Frankfurt, Germany - Entrust, Inc. [Nasdaq: ENTU] a leading global provider of enhanced Internet security products and solutions, today announced a Q1 2002 contract with Novartis, a Swiss healthcare and pharmaceuticals company.  As a result of the agreement, Novartis is deploying Entrust software to provide digital signature services, secure intranet applications and VPN for more than 55,000 employees worldwide.

VPN and document management are the first applications to be implemented throughout the Novartis organization. The benefits include increased access security, faster document approval processes and faster submission of regulatory documents.  Open access to sensitive and valuable corporate resources provides secure identification at each end of the communications tunnel. The use of a secure VPN helps Novartis move higher value business applications to the Internet, resulting in online cost savings and increased confidence in online security.
