Q1 Labs Appoints Brian O'Higgins and Glenn McGonnigle to Board of Directors; Executives Provide Guidance For Emerging Security Company

ATLANTA, Feb. 18 /CNW/ -- Q1 Labs (www.q1labs.com ), a leader in the development of network security and misuse management solutions, announced that Brian O'Higgins and Glenn McGonnigle have joined Q1 Labs' Board of Directors. As members of the board, they provide expertise in the security arena, as well as experience in setting the strategy and positioning for emerging companies.
O'Higgins is the Chief Technology Officer and co-founder of Entrust, a leading Internet security company. He has overall responsibility for the technology vision and direction for the company. He was previously with Nortel where he established the Secure Networks group in 1993 that was the predecessor of Entrust. Prior to this, he was with Bell-Northern Research, which he joined in 1979. At BNR, he was involved with a variety of technology development programs.
Mr. O'Higgins is a recognized speaker on IT and Internet security, and has authored several papers in the field. He is best known in the security community for introducing the term 'PKI'. He currently serves on several boards and advisory boards for companies and other industry associations, including the Information Technology Association of Canada, Communications and Information Technology Ontario, Recognia, Algonquin College, Cloakware, and Defence R&D Canada.

McGonnigle co-founded Internet Security Systems (ISS) in 1995 when the significance of the Internet and Internet security was just beginning to have an impact on business. Glenn was fundamental in creating alternate channels for ISS. Prior to joining ISS, Glenn was president and co-founder of Data Integrity Services Corporation, an early stage provider of WAN-based data management services.
