Announcing Entrust GetAccess 7.0 Release

As the owner of a Web portal, you need to provide access control and single sign-on to your customers, partners and employees efficiently and cost-effectively. You also need to keep an eye toward the future in order to extend your investment to Web services and identity management.

Entrust GetAccess 7.0™ release can help you accomplish these objectives by simplifying deployment, lowering both initial purchase and ongoing support costs. This new release builds on years of proven success with multi-million user deployments. It delivers significantly increased performance and market leading processor-based pricing -- an attractive option compared to per-user pricing that involves a large up-front investment. Entrust works with customers to achieve success; delivering market-leading technical support that customers tell us is superior to competitive offerings.

WHY YOU SHOULD SEE IT

  • Learn how Entrust GetAccess can help you get up and running with reduced cost and investment risk
Entrust is introducing value-based 'per processor' pricing that enables you to align the price paid for Entrust GetAccess with the use of your organization's portal applications. Unlike the "per-user" pricing model traditionally used by other vendors, Entrust's approach is tied more to the frequency of transactions that can be performed - a more accurate reflection of the value of your portal applications. Processor-based pricing reduces the need for large up-front investments and does not limit the number of users. This enables your organization to purchase what it needs today and add incremental capacity as required.

    More Flexible Administration
To drive greater efficiencies in Web portal administration, the Entrust GetAccess 7.0 release includes enhanced n-level administrative delegation capabilities. This provides you with more flexibility in delegating administrative control over portal resources and users to any level within your customer, employee or partner base in accordance with business processes and policies - a critical capability for organizations with geographically dispersed users.

Building upon Entrust GetAccess Roles-Based Access Controls (RBAC), the solution now provides rules-based access controls that restrict user access to portal resources based on context-sensitive policies, such as restrictions based on the time of day or authentication method presented at login. Based on XACML, this feature delivers seamless integration with other existing application rules engines, enabling you to leverage the power of Entrust GetAccess in conjunction with existing policies stores.

    Extended Interoperability
Entrust GetAccess version 7.0 leverages Entrust's leading role in defining and implementing standards through organizations such as OASIS and the Liberty Alliance. Support for these standards allows customers to readily extend their portals to external customer and partner organizations. Specifically, version 7.0 supports SAML 1.0, the recently ratified OASIS standard which enables organizations to more easily and securely interact with each other through federated identities.

Support for SAML compliments other new standards initiatives including the use of XACML in Entrust GetAccess 7.0 for defining fine-grain access control policy as well as the demonstration of SPML for exchanging identity management requests between organizations.

The Entrust GetAccess 7.0 release can now use Microsoft .NET Passport for authentication to the Web portal. This flexibility enables organizations using Microsoft .NET Passport to leverage Entrust GetAccess strong authorization capabilities.

    Enhanced Performance
The Entrust GetAccess 7.0 release delivers double the performance of previous releases, enabling you to meet the demands of today's high-volume portals in a cost-effective manner. In fact, Entrust GetAccess software has been proven to perform at high levels in several active multi-million-user deployments. In addition to enhanced performance, the product is the first in the Web access control space to comply with the Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS 140-2), which is recognized by various governments and private firms as an attestation to the level of security within a particular product.
  • Learn how you can extend your core investment to secure identity management and Web services applications

Entrust GetAccess 7.0 is a key component of the recently announced Entrust® Secure Identity Management Solution™, working with Entrust TruePass™ to secure administrator access to sensitive identity management functions.
