Is There a Better Solution for Online Security?

In an online world full of competing security architectures and approaches, no one questions the amazing utility of SSL combined with digital certificates. After more than 10 years of use in securing e-commerce and other sensitive transactions, the majority of "netizens" are familiar with the basic concepts.

Despite this, high-profile incidents of fraud and phishing scams have begun to erode consumer confidence in online security. To address these concerns, the CA/Browser Forum has developed standards and guidelines for a new type of digital certificate - the Extended Validation (EV) SSL certificate.

These new certificates have been in use since January 2007. To learn more about how Extended Validation SSL certificates have impacted consumers and Web site operators, please watch the Webinar replay: "The Extended Experience: Creating Trust with EV SSL."

"The Extended Experience: Creating Trust with EV SSL" will explore:

  • What led to the need for Extended Validation
  • Who is defining the guidelines for these EV SSL certificates
  • EV and the consumer's IE7 identity experience
  • Who can get an EV SSL certificate
  • Where to use EV SSL certificates, and where not to
  • How EV affects certificate management
  • Future applications for EV
